God_Sees_Dog_Eclectic_Mast_v1

When CB’s dog dies from rabies, CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife. His best friend is too burnt out to provide any coherent speculation; his sister has gone goth; his ex-girlfriend has recently been institutionalized; and his other friends are too inebriated to give him and sort of solace. But a chance meeting with an artistic kid, the target of this groups bullying offers CB a peace of mind and sets in motion a friendship that will push teen angst to the very limits. Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion, and sexual identity collide and careen toward an ending that is both haunting and hopeful.

History_Boys_Eclectic_Mast_v12

An unruly bunch of bright, funny boys in a British Boarding school are in pursuit of sex, sport, and a place at a good university-generally in that order. In all their efforts, they are helped and hindered, enlightened and bemused, by a maverick English teacher who seeks to broaden their horizons in sometimes undefined ways, and by a young history teacher who questions the methods, as well as the aim, of their schooling. In this 2006 Tony Award Winner, The History Boys raises not only universal questions about the nature of history and how it is taught but also questions about the purpose of education today.

Gidion may have been bullied severely-or he may have been the abuser. As his story is slowly uncovered, the women try to reconstruct a satisfying explanation for Gidion’s act and come to terms with excruciating feelings of culpability.
